The Glycemic Index List And It’s Use In Weight Loss Explained…

Very few of us realize the major impact the glycemic index list can have on our lives.

Ever had a “blood sugar” crash? We all have – some of us have several every day. But most of us don’t understand just what is going on inside our bodies. When your blood sugar drops too much, you will feel a general tiredness, you could feel weak and even get the shakes.

Our bodies need the sugar (glucose) in our bloodstream for energy and we perform at our best if the supply is steady and constant. Using the glycemic index list, we can easily choose foods that will provide a slow constant release throughout the day and avoid the (unhealthy) roller coaster highs and lows.

Proteins and fats are digested more slowly and tend to release their glucose into the bloodstream more slowly… without the spikes caused by carbohydrates. Because of this, they aren’t ranked on the glycemic index list. Carbohydrates are ranked according to the amount of affect they have on the blood glucose levels.

The glycemic index list measures how much a 50 – gram portion of various carbohydrates will raise your blood glucose levels as compared to a control. (Either bread or pure sugar.)

The temporary increase is called the glycemic response and all carbohydrates cause it. But, they cause it at varying levels according to the type of carb, the amount it was processed, the way it was prepared and the amount eaten. The glycemic response is affected by all of them.

The rankings go from 1 to 100. Pure glucose is at 100. For a food to be considered in the high range, it has to score above 70. Low is 55 and less. Obviously, the moderate range comes in at 56 to 69.

An example of a high glycemic index list ranking would be our favorite drinking snack…the pretzel – which comes in at a whopping 81.

You could do better with a fruit cocktail at 55 (just about in the medium range) or even better is the 15 of broccoli.

We care about the glucose levels in our bloodstream because – for it to work, it has to be accompanied by insulin. The slower insulin is released into our bloodstream, the healthier it is for our body – in many ways that go beyond the scope of this article.

Plus…all that glucose has to go somewhere! if we don’t use it right away, it gets stored as fat! Controlling your weight is as simple as eating foods lower on the glycemic index list. This releases glucose more slowly – so we have a better chance of burning it off! Not to mention that the slower digestion means we feel full longer and eat less.

The glycemic index list is not concerned with the quantity of carbs but with the quality. Of course the amount you eat is important, but the measurement of the glycemic index of foods is based on a constant of 50 – grams. In other words, it’s the type of carb being ranked not the amount.

To control your weight and to avoid blood sugar spikes, you will still need to exercise a little portion control.

Keep you eye on the portions add in a little exercising and the glycemic index list will be your best weight loss friend!

Exercise For Love Handles – Will More Sex Get Rid Of Them?

Love handles, spare tyre, middle aged spread, call them what you will they aren’t attractive. Is sex a good exercise for love handles? The short answer is no!

Having said that, there’s no harm in trying to get rid of them by having lots of sex. In fact I would encourage you to have as much sex as possible and put it down to research.

I suppose if you did have enough active sex you would burn enough calories that the love handles would eventually shrink and go.

We fall down on the amount of garbage food we eat between sex sessions. I’m ready to go again pretty quick, usually about three weeks. How ’bout you?

In all seriousness a good bout of sex can get your heart pumping and can be a great workout.

Love handles and other buckets of fat are a bit more difficult to get rid of. It’s definitely possible but it will take some effort, and as much willpower.

All manner of exercise for love handles can be found on the net if you do a quick search. Some simple and some so complex I would fear serious injury if tried.

In my eyes an all round fitness system is hard to beat. One that easily helps you keep in trim but also lets you eat well without going hungry.

There simply is no substitute for an all round system. Keeps any need for hard exercise down to a minimum.

The system I use is like this. I can plan ahead with my meals and exercise. Actually, I use a (stress free) online diet generator to create my meals.

I struggled for years with my weight. Struggle isn’t the right word because truth is I didn’t even try. I was convinced I couldn’t lose weight.

It’s a different story now though. I found a system that works for me. No stingy little meals and no pounding heavy weight down the gym.

It’s a system that is simple. It will work for you just as it works for me and countless others. That is, if you want it to work.

A lot of people say they are looking for diet and exercise systems but do they really, really want to find one deep down? Do you?

2. Low-fat intake. Low-fat intakes can reduce your arm-fat-melting hormones by up to 30%–the last thing you need. Even worse, low-fat intakes speed up digestion which in turn increases fat deposits on your arms. Thus, increasing fat in your diet, decreases fat on your arms.

3. Low-fat. Going low-fat is the last thing you should do if you want sexy arms. Doing so will reduce your arm-fat-incinerating hormones by 30%. And your digestion rate will speed up which in turn will increase the amount of fatty tissue stored within your arms. So decreasing dietary fat, increases arm fat.

Side effects from this group of drugs can include diarrhea and vomiting, and tightness in the chest or urinary tract.

In some cases, these medications can cause a heart attack or stroke. An overdose of a weight loss tablet can cause symptoms such as tremors, hallucinations, confusion, shallow breathing, convulsions, heart attack and renal failure.

It is important to note that potential side effects vary, depending on a person’s health and lifestyle, and can be minimized when the person consults with a doctor and follows the prescription’s instructions.

Studies have also shown that when a person stops taking these drugs, there are typically withdrawal symptoms and/or side effects, including mood swings, stomach pain, hyperactivity, nightmares, insomnia, irritability, fatigue, nausea, depression, trembling and vomiting.

Regular exercise that burns calories is an important part of a weight loss program. As previously stated, it is important to check with a doctor before starting an exercise regime.
